In the event’s fourth year, swimmers participate in a 9-mile roundtrip race from Islamorada to the Alligator Lighthouse and back. Proceeds benefit the Friends of the Pool in Islamorada, helping provide scholarship opportunities to those in need, and preserve treasured historic lighthouses on Florida’s coastal waterways.
